SolvSolar docs: how the solar proposal, design and subsidy engine works
Last updated:
This page is the plain-language reference for the platform: what each part does, what it costs, and where the numbers come from. Every rooftop proposal is produced by one engine shared by the web app, the WhatsApp bot and the Telegram bot, with built-in DISCOM and subsidy rules for 20 regions, including PM Surya Ghar in India and US commercial and lease/PPA incentive modelling.
Channel parity
“One design engine serves the web app, the WhatsApp bot and the Telegram bot, so the same inputs produce the same proposal on every channel.”
Where do I start for my job role?
| Module | What it does | Typical time | Read next |
|---|---|---|---|
| Proposal engine | Bill and roof inputs to a four-page client PDF | ≈ 45 seconds | 3D design feature page |
| 3D design | Shade-aware array layout, BOM and single line diagram | Included in generation | /features/3d-design |
| Subsidy rules | PM Surya Ghar slabs, DISCOM net metering, US commercial incentive modelling | Applied automatically | /features/pm-surya-ghar |
| Wallet | kW credits deducted per designed system | Instant top-up | /wallet |
| Plans | Monthly designed-capacity allowances, unlimited seats | — | /pricing |
Methodology: Times describe median observed product behaviour for residential systems up to 100 kW on a standard broadband connection; they are not competitor benchmarks.
What should I read after this?
- 3D rooftop solar design — layout, shading and bill of materials.
- PM Surya Ghar subsidy automation — central slabs, state top-ups and DISCOM rules.
- Pay-per-kW wallet and pricing.
- State guides and the solar encyclopedia.
Platform documentation — frequently asked questions
›How do I generate my first solar proposal?
Create a free installer account, open the proposal engine, enter the customer's monthly bill, tariff, state and roof type, then press generate. The proposal renders in about 45 seconds. Your first proposal up to 100 kW is free.
›What are the four pages of a SolvSolar proposal?
Page one is the branded cover with customer and site details. Page two is the system and 3D design with the array layout and bill of materials. Page three is the financial plan with subsidy, savings and EMI maths. Page four is terms with client and installer e-signature fields.
›How do the WhatsApp and Telegram bots work?
Both bots ask the same short sequence — system type, bill, location and roof — and hand the answers to the same design engine the web app uses, then reply with a shareable proposal link. Output is identical across all three channels.
›How is my usage billed?
Seats are always free. India is billed at ₹10 per kW designed or plans from ₹499/month; other regions are $0.50 per kW designed or plans from $19.99/month. Your first proposal up to 100 kW is free.
›Where do I see what I have spent?
The wallet ledger lists every kW deduction with the proposal it belongs to and the running balance, so each charge is traceable to a specific design.
›Can I white-label proposals with my own brand?
Yes. Your company name, logo and contact details appear on the cover and terms pages of every PDF, and the shareable link carries the same branding.
›Is my customer data private?
Yes. Proposal and customer records are scoped to your installer entity by row-level security in the database, so no other account can read them. See the privacy policy for retention detail.
