What is bifacial gain?

Bifacial gain is the extra energy a double-sided module produces from light reflected onto its rear face. It typically adds 5–15% to annual generation, depending on ground albedo, mounting height and tilt. Elevated or ballasted structures over white membrane, concrete or light sand see the highest gain; dark or heavily shaded ground sees almost none.
