What grid protection is mandatory?
Reviewed by SolvSolar · Last reviewed:
Grid-tied solar must include anti-islanding protection, over- and under-voltage and frequency trip settings, DC and AC surge protection, an AC isolator the utility can access, and earthing to the applicable national standard. Anti-islanding is the non-negotiable one: it stops the inverter energising a dead line and endangering utility crews during an outage.
